My Story
Meet Paulette, Registered Holistic Nutritionist
Hi. I’m Paulette.
I’ve always been interested in nutrition. Even as a kid I would read books about food and nutrition. However, the more I read about nutrition, the more frustrated I became. There was so much conflicting information in the news and I wondered how anyone could make sense of it all. During one of Google attempts to find the answers, I learned about the Canadian School of Natural
I ‘devoured’ the nutritional knowledge of my instructors and quickly developed my own philosophy of eating well.
For the most part, my nutrition training helped me make better decisions. However, things change. As I approached my late 30’s, I found that I didn’t have as much energy as I used to have despite eating a ‘healthy diet’ and exercising regularly. Similarly, I was frustrated that every year my weight was creeping up (ugh…BELLY FAT!!) despite doing MORE CARDIO (not fun) and RESTRICTING CALORIES (really not fun). I had trouble focusing and couldn’t remember things as easily as I once could.
THEN…I decided to try something different.
As I experimented with changing how I ate and focused on protein, fibre and good quality fats, I quickly discovered how much better I felt…more energy, better mood, ability to think more clearly.
I realize now that I was becoming INSULIN RESISTANT because I was entering perimenopause. That’s right – the normal hormone changes that occur in perimenopause, cause insulin resistance! YIKES!
I needed to learn a new way of eating, exercising and managing stress so that I could manage the perimenopause symptoms that were popping up. And with some trial and error and lots of my own research, I did that. Let me help you too.

My Approach
Within my whole foods approach, I help menopausal women navigate this life transition, feeling empowered instead of alone and overwhelmed. There is so much we can do with food and lifestyle habits, to balance hormones, reduce symptoms and help you feel like yourself again. There’s hope, and I want to help you.
