Mushroom and Swiss Burger Casserole Recipe

This reminds me of the taste of Hamburger Helper, but much healthier of course!

Ingredients

  • 2 tbsp Olive oil
  • 2 tbsp Butter salted
  • 1 package sliced (8 oz) White mushrooms sliced (8 oz) White mushrooms
  • 1 medium Yellow onion diced
  • 3 clove Garlic- minced
  • 454 gm Ground Beef (or other ground meat)
  • 1/2 cup Heavy whipping cream 38% M.F.
  • 1/4 cup Worcestershire sauce
  • 1/4 tsp Oregano dried
  • 1/4 tsp Parsley dried
  • 1/4 tsp Salt and pepper or to taste
  • 2 cup diced or shredded Swiss cheese

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
  • Place a pan over medium/high heat and add a little butter and oil.
  • When the pan is hot, add the mushrooms and onion. Cook for about 5 minutes.
  • Add the garlic, oregano, parsley, salt and pepper. Cook for another 1-2 minutes.
  • Add the ground beef and cook until browned.
  • Add the heavy cream and Worcestershire sauce. Stir and let simmer a couple of minutes.
  • Add the beef mixture to a greased, 9x13, baking dish. Stir everything together. Top with shredded Swiss cheese and bake for 30 minutes until bubbly and lightly browned on top.
